Want to Get Lucky?

How many of us want to be lucky?

From my observations, I would gather that everybody wants–nay–craves to be lucky.

We crave to get that lucky break that causes all the pieces to fall together.

We crave to be that lucky guy that gets all the girls.

We crave to be so lucky that everything in life just clicks.

We buy lucky charms for God sakes just so we can rub off a little bit of that elusive, indefinable quality.

We stay away from black cats, don’t walk under ladders, and throw salt over our shoulders just so that we don’t tick off the God of Luck.

From doctors to gamblers, everybody has a lucky cap to a specific underwear they wear that will tip luck to their favor.

We thank our lucky stars when things go our way.

Well, here’s a novel idea, luck isn’t some mystical or random thing we need to pray for.

The harder you work, the luckier you get. – Gary Player

Yup, it’s that simple.

The harder you work, the more you know, the more experience you have, the more opportunities you will get. More opportunities give you more options for success, which tips you towards a higher chance of actually being successful. It’s a numbers game. In the illusion of luck is a backdrop of immense hard work. Blood, sweat, and tears are the building blocks of success. Nobody I know that is really successful got it through luck, instead they dedicated their life towards achieving that impossible dream and made it a reality.
