Just came back from Cabo, still feels like things are swaying…

  • $3 – Lee’s Sandwiches
  • $5 – In-n-Out (cheeseburger, fries, float)
  • $23 – Seapass expenses (mojito, wine tasting, internet)
  • $22 – Glassbottom boat ride around Cabo’s arch
  • $40 – Cabo Wabo (beef fajitas and burrito platters, mojito, two waters)
  • $23 – Korean Restaurant

Total: $116

Cabo is pretty expensive, definitely more expensive than Ensenada. It feels more touristy and American. A lot of the prices are around LA prices (eg. a beef fajita platter is $12) and a bottle of water (they don’t serve tap even in Americanized restaurants) is $3 a pop! Good thing there is no tax but unfortunately they expect tip unlike Ensenada. The water taxis there are cool, basically you just jump in one and they can take you around the city, to the arch, from one coast to another and it is pretty cheap – only $3/person for a distance that would end up being a 45 minute walk in 100 degree weather or $10/person for a sightseeing trip to their famous Cabo tip (aka arch). Overall I think it was a lot of fun, next time we will do the whole jetski/snorkeling thing!

Also, cruises are definitely worth it. We only paid $250/person (incl. tax and fees) for a four night/five day cruise to Cabo and back! So that essentially covers the room and food for all four nights. And boy do they have food! There is a buffet if you ever get hungry – even until midnight. And there are also nice sit down times for breakfast, lunch, dinner with a menu selection for appetizers, entrees, and desserts. The food was good and the service was impeccable. No where else can you eat a lot of food and then get up and leave without paying a bill! Plus, there is a fitness center, spa, pool, rock climbing wall, basketball court, ping pong table, casino, bars, and shops to keep you occupied. There were also nightly musical performances and comedy shows. They have definitely thought the entire process out to keep you active and let you have fun. No wonder I go on a cruise at least once a year. Will probably go again sometime next year if prices are still this low!

Haha, it helps when room and food are already covered under the cruise price of $250/person (which was already paid in a prior month – so I guess it actually ended up being $366 in total for me). Also, we didn’t really do much shopping in Cabo, mostly just sightseeing. And we took advantage of all the different free activities they had onboard (games/shows/seminars) and didn’t drink like a fish (unlike 90% of the guests – almost all of the passengers are lushes!).

Wow, only $250/person! I’ve never been on a cruise but I am gonna keep my eyes open for some deals.
